Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long-established aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture key aircraft wing structures for Airbus commercial aircraft operating worldwide.
You will support our production teams through accurate engineering processes, clear work instructions and well‑managed change control. Your work will ensure our manufacturing systems remain reliable, efficient and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements.
How you will contribute to the team
You will:
- Translate design data and engineering specifications into clear manufacturing work instructions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support the MRB process by providing engineering guidance for rework, scrap decisions and future prevention actions.
- Manipulate and interpret CAD data to support engineering and manufacturing activities.
- Define quality standards and contribute to long‑term cost optimisation within production processes.
- Work closely with Design to implement cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.
- Create, maintain and audit engineering processes, ensuring accuracy within process routings and Bills of Material.
- Review and accept new or updated design models and drawings as an approved signatory.
Requirements for the role
You will have:
- A relevant qualification such as HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of engineering systems and continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD data and technical information.
