We're Hiring: Manufacturing Engineer

Full-Time | Core Team

LAT Aerospace | Civil

LAT Aerospace is developing next-generation aerospace systems from first principles. This includes a hybrid electric aircraft that takes off and lands within a space of a parking lot, Defence systems built from ground up and scalable Gas Turbine Engines.

The Manufacturing Engineer role sits at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, supply chain, production planning, and operations. You will be responsible for building the systems that allow our engineering team to move fast without compromising quality, reliability, or execution.

What you'll do

  • Develop and streamline manufacturing processes for composite and metallic aircraft structures.

  • Own the manufacturing workflow from engineering drawings and BOMs through fabrication, assembly, inspection, and delivery.

  • Develop composite manufacturing processes including layup, tooling, curing, trimming, bonding, and finishing.

  • Plan production schedules and optimize machine, tooling, workshop, and technician utilization.

  • Work closely with design and structures engineers on DFM/DFA and manufacturing-driven design improvements.

  • Manage machine shops, composite technicians, vendors, and external manufacturing partners.

  • Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks, rework, and quality issues.

  • Develop work instructions, inspection procedures, manufacturing documentation, and quality processes.

  • Support rapid prototype builds while developing repeatable processes for subsequent aircraft builds.

  • Track manufacturing lead time, yield, quality, and throughput and continuously improve the production system.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in aircraft manufacturing or production engineering going through multiple build and assemble cycles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with composite aircraft structures and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with composite materials, prepregs, layup, tooling, curing, bonding, trimming, and inspection.

  • Experience working with aircraft structures, preferably wings, fuselage, empennage, or other primary/secondary structures.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, tolerances, and DFM/DFA.

  • Experience in training technicians, machine shops, suppliers, and external manufacturing partners.

  • Comfortable working with manufacturing machinery including CNCs, Oven, and/or Autoclave.

  • Comfortable working directly on the shop floor and with prototype hardware.

  • Ability to balance speed, quality, cost, and on-time delivery in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Experience with UAVs, general aviation, commercial aircraft, or other aerospace structures is preferred.

Why LAT?

  • No hierarchy beyond strength of ideas.

  • Rapid hardware iteration culture.

  • Own the complete journey from engineering design to flight-ready hardware.

Skills Required

  • Strong fundamentals in manufacturing engineering, production systems, and mechanical engineering
  • Experience working with industry-standard CAD software and engineering drawings
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes for mechanical or aerospace products
  • Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, composites, welding, additive manufacturing, and mechanical assembly processes
  • Experience with production planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
  • Experience implementing quality control processes and root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues
  • Comfortable working with prototype hardware, machine shops, technicians, and external suppliers
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple parallel builds
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or other high-performance hardware manufacturing environments

What We Do

Imagine a world where flying is as easy as taking a bus. A world where air travel isn't just for the major cities, but for everyone, everywhere. No more congested hubs, no more wasted hours in security lines—just seamless, affordable, on-demand flights connecting thousands of destinations that the world has ignored for too long. We are building the future of mass aviation: a network of high-frequency, low-cost, 8 seater, STOL (short take-off and landing), medium-haul aircraft that make every city, every town, and every community accessible—without compromise. Powered by next-generation aircraft, designed ground-up for efficiency, built for affordability, and future-proofed for autonomy, we are aiming to rewrite the rules of flight. Our aircraft will take off and land in compact "air-stops" no bigger than a parking lot—no baggage belts, no security bottlenecks—eliminating the need for complex, expensive airport infrastructure that regional air travel simply doesn't require. No more waiting. No more detours. No more being forced to drive when you should be able to fly. This isn't the impractical supersonic future of aviation as you are made to believe. This is the real future of aviation that our communities need. --------- We are hiring We’re building a next-gen aerospace company — from scratch. Our Aircraft team is leading the development of our 8-seater hybrid-electric aircraft, spanning design, prototyping, systems integration, testing, and everything in between. Our GTE team is focused on building a world-class gas turbine engine. We're especially looking for folks with experience in turbines, rotors, control systems, or anything close. If you want to build something ambitious and enduring, write to us: [email protected] (for Aircraft) [email protected] (for GTE)
