ADMAT Manager ProductionHuntsman is seeking an ADMAT Manager Production supporting the ADMAT Division located in Los Angeles Site. This position will report to the Site Manager.Job ScopeThe ADMAT Manager Production will provide oversight to the day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles facility, focusing on production and packaging activities. The individual will drive high performance in Process Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, and Efficiency, and lead initiatives and projects to support site continuous improvement. The role also includes assisting the Site Manager in providing leadership to production and technical staff, setting objectives, and driving performance improvement.In summary, as the ADMAT Manager Production, you will:- Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance at the plant, emphasizing Process Safety, managing all aspects of the Production Department and other direct report departments in full compliance with EHS federal and state laws and corporate standards
- Support Supply Chain by manufacturing products on time, in full, and to agreed quality
- Be involved with incident/near miss reporting and investigations, including review and assignment of further investigations using 5-why or root cause methodology
- Communicate openly and approach discord positively
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, or other tools to improve efficiency, quality, and cost of production
- Ensure compliance to applicable quality systems
- Provide leadership and guidance to Production and Packaging Departments, setting clear expectations for performance and accountability, and develop talent through coaching and feedback
- Support 5S process to continue improvements in Production area housekeeping
- Bachelor's of Science: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience preferable in process plant design activity, chemical manufacturing
- This position may require involvement with materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and understanding of applicable rules and procedures associated with RCRA wastes
- Training methods (Computer-based, Classroom, On-the-job) will be provided prior to RCRA involvement
- Practical application of Process Safety, OSHA, and EPA regulations
- Knowledge of chemistry and engineering principles; supervisory/management skills; problem and decision analysis
- Set priorities to respond to customer needs and business strategy, including meeting Schedule Adherence targets
- Review financial statements and data to improve profitability; prepare and control operational budgets
- Provide guidance to and manage production scheduling activities
- Experience with OEE, working knowledge of CI skills including Lean and Six Sigma; Green or Black belt preferred
- Manufacturing experience in the aerospace sector desired
- Good communication skills as interface between site (shop floor through management) and other business functions, including Customer Service, Sales, Demand Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and key customers
- Strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills
- Solid leadership skills and ability to manage vertically and horizontally
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and set priorities; initiative and self-motivation
- Experience in a global, matrixed organization preferred
- Use of SAP, LIMS, and other math/engineering programs as needed
- Presentation skills, both oral and written, including communications to personnel at all levels and third parties
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
- Effective, logical, independent, and superior engineering analysis and reasoning capabilities
- MBA
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Experience in global matrixed organizations
- Involvement in process plant operations, including Production and Packaging
- Exposure to materials regulated under RCRA
- Office and manufacturing environment; shift flexibility may be required
