Summary of Job Description: Production Manager will drive efficient plant operations using Lean principles to optimize production flow, reduce waste, and ensure quality standards. Oversee scheduling, inventory, and workforce development while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Reports to the Plant Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce safety standards and proper PPE usage.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules and tooling changeovers using Lean methods.
- Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines.
- Ensure product quality meets manufacturing specifications and implement root cause analysis for defects.
- Apply Kaizen and 5S principles to improve processes and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Hire, train, and develop team members; promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Familiarity with production equipment and inventory control systems.
- Computer proficiency and understanding of BOM systems.
- High School diploma required; technical or college degree preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, handle materials, and operate equipment in varying temperature conditions.
