Production Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of production workers, ensuring the achievement of production targets, adherence to quality standards, and driving P&L results. This position manages the production operations within designated areas or shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a team that is responsible for operating production machinery, assembling items, performing quality control, or packaging goods for shipment.
- Oversee departmental daily P&L forecasting and analysis, as well as labor planning and scheduling.
- Monitor operational performance levels and regularly interface with our customers.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Communicates effectively with Corporate management and customers to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), meeting customer expectations, and promptly resolving any issues that may arise.
- Responsible for meeting or surpassing daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with accurate reporting that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
- Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet demand and appropriate staffing levels within the department.
- Communicates with various levels of Corporate management and customers to ensure that customer expectations are met, and issues are resolved.
- Engages in employee relations initiatives, promptly addressing and resolving employee concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
- Provide the next level of support for escalated issues during work shifts.
- Collaborates with other functional groups to ensure that organizational goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability are met.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
- All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of leadership experience (preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced production, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing or service environment), including experience working with P&L/budgets.
- Proficient in managing a demanding workload, prioritizing tasks and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office, report preparation and data analysis.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and a focus on results and continuous improvement.
- Ability to strategically analyze complex situations and formulate a well-considered plan.
- General knowledge of OSHA Standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with UKG and Kronos.
- Experience in supervising temporary staff.
- Advanced capability in communication style-flexing.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
