DanceOne is a leading live event organization producing premier dance competitions and conventions across the United States. Our productions combine high-level technical execution with unforgettable experiences for dancers, families, and studios nationwide.
We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on Production Manager to oversee the technical execution and touring operations of our live events.
✈️ Travel & Work ExpectationsFlying weekly for 3–6 months per year (touring season)
Required travel for our Summer Event Series
When not traveling, you may be required to work at our warehouse/shop on in-house production projects
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, touring environment and enjoys both leadership and hands-on technical work.
🎬 Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Production & PlanningCoordinate and book local labor for each show
Communicate with truck drivers and venue security
Ensure all crew members reporting to you understand responsibilities and call times
Create operational show schedules based on event timelines
Serve as the main point of contact for technicians while on tour
Escalate operational issues appropriately
This is a hands-on leadership role.
You will oversee technical departments and actively participate in:
Loading and unloading trucks
Bolting truss systems
Operating material lifts
Hanging lighting and audio equipment
Building stage decks
Stacking and unstacking road cases
Ensuring the full set is built safely, fully functional, and on schedule
Safety, efficiency, and professionalism are critical.
Show Operations & DocumentationYou are responsible for completing and submitting weekly production paperwork, including:
Post-show reports
Crew and local labor timesheets
Venue photos and video documentation
Rental and labor invoices
Accident and incident reports
Ensure all consumables are properly stocked
Confirm equipment is in good working condition
Oversee minor repairs on the road
Coordinate return of damaged equipment to warehouse when necessary
Experience in live event production or touring environments
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple moving parts under tight timelines
Comfort working physically in technical build environments
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to problem-solve independently on the road
Be part of a nationally recognized touring production team
Lead technical execution for large-scale live events
