Job Description

As a Production Manager, you lead the assembly within our business unit Advanced Analytics, part of NTS Eindhoven - Mechatronics Assembly. Together with the other business unit Advanced Systems (semicon), we build advanced systems and modules for leading players in the semiconductor, analytical, and precision markets. Your assembly team converts parts into subassemblies and complete products of various and complex nature based on drawings, schematics, and bills of materials, where mechanics, mechatronics, and electronics come together. Most of the work takes place in our cleanroom (ISO 6 and 7), with assembly work also outside the cleanroom. Through your team leaders, you manage an assembly team of 30 to 50 employees. You translate the production strategy into concrete goals on the floor, continuously monitor the KPIs, and make adjustments where necessary.
You report to the BU manager and work closely with engineering, sales, quality, and procurement. You also coordinate a lot with the Production Manager of the other BU Advanced Systems (semicon) to ensure we continue to deliver as one entity. You translate signals from the shop floor into well-founded improvement and investment proposals, which you further develop with these disciplines. You are a connecting and decisive leader who takes people along, dares to make decisions, and keeps an eye on the development of both your team leaders and your assemblers. You take responsibility and ownership for the production planning and the output of your department, and you deliver on your promises.

Your responsibilities also include:
  • You organize the daily assembly production and translate the production strategy into clear goals for your team leaders;

  • You manage KPIs, identify deviations early, and intervene to achieve targets and delivery times;

  • You monitor the qualitative and quantitative staffing of your assembly team and ensure an up-to-date personnel planning in the medium term;

  • You analyze work in progress and continuously improve lead time, efficiency, ergonomics, and output inside and outside the cleanroom;

  • You work closely with engineering, sales, quality, and procurement and coordinate with the Production Manager of the other business unit Advanced Systems to solve departmental cross-cutting issues;

  • You provide periodic management reports and analyze ERP data for forecasting and adjustments;

  • You coach, motivate, and develop your team leaders and assemblers, and conduct performance and appraisal interviews yourself.

Requirements

We are looking for a decisive and pragmatic production leader with the following background:

  • A completed technical HBO education, for example, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or industrial automation;

  • Demonstrable leadership experience in a production or assembly environment, preferably within the high-tech or precision engineering industry;

  • Experience in managing teams (30 to 50 employees) through team leaders;

  • Affinity with the assembly of complex products within mechanics, mechatronics, and electronics, and with working in a cleanroom environment (ISO 6 and 7);

  • Knowledge of operational excellence, lean, and continuous improvement, and the ability to apply this concretely on the shop floor;

  • A pragmatic, connecting style where you take people along and make decisions;

  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken.

Your benefits

At NTS, we combine our passion for technology with innovative solutions for complex challenges. You get the freedom and trust to fully utilize and develop your talents in a dynamic and energetic environment. We invest in both technology and you as a future colleague!
