Lead and manage end-to-end Tap Hole Clay production to ensure product quality, safe operations, cost efficiency, and IMS compliance. Oversee batching, mixing, extrusion/briquetting, packing, QA coordination, CAPA, EHS enforcement, team training, shift planning, and production reporting while reducing rework and customer complaints.

Responsibilities:
- To lead and manage the Tap Hole Clay (THC) production line, ensuring consistent product quality, safe operations, cost efficiency, and compliance with Calderys’ IMS, safety, and sustainability standards while meeting customer-specific performance requirements
- Plan, execute, and monitor end-to-end production of Tap Hole Clay.
- Manage processes including raw material handling, batching, mixing/kneading, extrusion or briquetting, aging, packing, and dispatch.
- Control critical process parameters such as plasticity, rheology, grain size distribution, carbon/resin/pitch content, mixing time, and temperature control.
- Ensure strict adherence to approved formulations, SOPs, and process control plans.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for testing, defect analysis, and implementation of CAPA.
- Drive reduction in batch variation, customer complaints, and field performance issues.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of resins, pitch, oils, and carbonaceous materials.
- Drive reduction in rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Enforce EHS standards, safety procedures, and statutory requirements on the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and internal audits.
- Lead, train, and motivate production supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Conduct skill gap analysis and on-the-job training for operators on alumina brick processes.
- Support manpower planning, shift management, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, R&D, SCM, and Planning teams for smooth operations.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports, KPI dashboards, and MIS.
- Support audits, customer visits, and technical discussions when required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Essential: B.E./B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering (Ceramic Diploma with strong experience may be considered)
- 5-8 years of experience in refractory manufacturing
- Minimum 5 years in Tap Hole Clay production
- Strong knowledge of Tap Hole Clay Production
- Exposure to SAP (PP/MM) and production reporting systems
Skills Required
- B.E./B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering or Ceramic Diploma with strong experience
- 5-8 years of experience in refractory manufacturing
- Minimum 5 years in Tap Hole Clay production
- Strong knowledge of Tap Hole Clay production processes and controls
- Exposure to SAP (PP/MM) and production reporting systems
