We’re a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority.
In this role your responsibilities will be to lead, inspire and coach a team within a defined manufacturing cell. Accountable for ensuring that customer commitments are met in full, measured against agreed HSE, quality, cost, delivery, people and responsiveness standards.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week .
What you will be doing:
You will deliver products/services committed to the customers at the right time, cost, quality, and responsiveness to support their plans. Create the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practice with other areas and other internal and external networks.
- Ensure compliance to Company Health, Safety and Environment policy, understands the technical and legislative elements associated with their area of responsibility and ensure compliance.
- Utilize the standard tools, Key Performance Indicators, and processes to ensure that committed goals and improvements are achieved (Quality Management System, Rolls Royce Production System, etc.)
- Execute the planning and balancing of load and capacity in the short, medium term to meet the customer demands and achieve the plant strategy, using the required Supply Chain Planning & Control tools, policies and planning process to ensure credible plans based on historical data. Creates and maintains accurate work centre, pooled capacity and queue time data within the ERP system.
- Create and agrees elements of their areas budget (headcount, productivity, overtime, absenteeism) ; monitoring and controlling the performance to ensure the budget is met. Ensures that the staff are appropriately trained / supervised to carry out their roles effectively and are developed for future requirements using the company standard processes and tools (Professional Development Frameworks, MyLearning etc.)

- Management experience in an engineering industry is ideal, but not essential.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
