Creative Dining Services at Delta College is looking for a Production Lead. The Production Lead works with the Production Supervisor and/or Executive Chef to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner.
Core responsibilities include:
- Interacting with guests and kitchen employees to provide an outstanding service and working environment.
- Utilize safe food handling techniques at all times
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
- Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
- Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
- Work with the Production Supervisor to maintain production records (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.)
- Work with the Production Supervisor to maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooling temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.)
- Assist Production Supervisor in the training of new and existing employees to become effective in their jobs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Production Lead position involves the physical work of preparing food in a commercial kitchen environment. These responsibilities include moving inventory, product, carts, tables, etc. as well as food preparation and production using kitchen utensils and commercial kitchen equipment. Environment may include hot, humid, or cold temperatures. This position may require extended working hours at times. Candidates must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.

This position requires:
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
- 1 year of leadership experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- ServSafe Certification & ServSafe Allergen Certification
