The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are met in alignment with quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This role acts as the first line of leadership for production staff, coordinating workflow, resolving issues, and communicating updates to supervisors or managers. The Production Lead works hands on alongside the team while also providing direction, training, and support to maintain a productive, safe, and positive work environment. 

 Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities across production lines or work areas.  
  • Assign tasks to production staff to meet schedules and customer demands.  
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, and ensure adherence to SOP and safety protocols.  
  • Perform in-process inspections to verify product quality and compliance.  
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues, escalating as needed.  
  • Maintain accurate production reports, logs, and shift documentation.  
  • Partner with supervisors and management to meet output, quality, and efficiency goals.  
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 Skills & Abilities 

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.  
  • Solid technical knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality standards.  
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.  
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.  
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality and safety. 

 Education & Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  • 4–6 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.  
  • Minimum 1–2 years in a lead, trainer, or supervisory role, preferred. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods of time.  
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier loads with assistance.  
  • Tolerance for exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and manufacturing environments.
