Production Lead

Position Title: Production Lead

Reports To: Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

PPE Requirements: Safety glasses as required

Other Specifications: Physical position - required lifting, carrying, reaching, squatting, bending, sitting, standing, and driving (as needed). Reliable transportation to and from work; Working cell phone; ability to safely operate equipment including forklift; good attendance is critical; highly physical position.

Position Summary:

This position requires excellent attendance, workplace behavior, and self-motivation to learn and develop new skills to create cross training opportunities within our production department.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Operating production line equipment
• Set-up and breakdown of line
• Maintain a clean workstation and production floor
• End of day sanitation
• Capture and record Daily production data and daily counts
• Leading daily team meetings that communicate safety topics, daily efficiencies, production schedule and company announcements
• Ensure all team members are being safe while in the production area
• Assist with GMP walk throughs
• Other duties as assigned 

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Have a working cell phone with the ability to receive company text messages.
• At least 2 years’ work experience.
• HS Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays when required.
• Safely operate a forklift and machinery/ equipment.
• Ability to perform continuous standing, grasping, and handling of materials and frequent walking, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, overhead reaching, lifting, carrying, and handling heavy weight. Also, periodic, and sometimes frequent lifting of 50 and 52 lbs.
• Follow and perform all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices for Food Safety).
• Exposure to warm and cold weather conditions and temperatures
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and comply with PPE requirements.
• Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to remain calm and project a calm presence during tension and crisis. 
• Must be dependable; excellent attendance and punctuality are critical to the success of this role.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (Including weekends and holidays when required)
• Possess good organizational skills.
• Follow PPE guidelines, as required.
