Chemours is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our growing Washington Works team! This position will report directly to the Power and Services Operations Manager at our Washington, WV location.

The role of the Production Supervisor (PS) is to manage the assigned Power & Services Operations Shift Team(s) in the safe, responsible, & reliable supply of utilities and services to the site. The PS is responsible to safely and efficiently manage people, equipment, and processes to maintain supply as required by many site leveraged agreements.  The PS will be assigned to work a M-F day shift schedule (work schedule is flexible) and will have 18 - 25 Chemical Operators as direct reports.

The responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to the following:

• Ability to identify hazards and oversee operations to ensure accountability with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures and maintain regulatory compliance.

• Perform and oversee compliance activities and reporting.

• Establish high-performance standards in the areas of housekeeping, attendance, operational discipline, work permits and usage of SAP for maintenance scheduling.

• Work proactively with Operations Manager and HR to reward excellence as well as administer corrective discipline appropriately.  Develop reports through documented regular coaching and performance reviews.  Address performance concerns in a timely manner.

• Ensure all operations personnel have up to date training and identify any gaps in abilities or skillsets among the team are brought forward. Offer solutions to these gaps like specific training, progressive discipline, or a combination of both.

• Take a lead role to drive results in Organizational Health and Continuous Improvement efforts and work to build a team that is highly engaged.

• Respond to personnel, operational, safety and environmental incidents in a timely manner.

• Ability for consistent communication and collaboration with reports, peers, management, maintenance, technical and all other site personnel. Courage to address tough issues at all levels. Recognize and make appropriate notifications during undesirable events.

• Facilitate troubleshooting operational issues and assist in root cause analysis and incident investigation.

• Ability to drive continuous improvement through the Chemours Business System

The following is required for this role:

• High School Diploma/GED equivalent

• Greater than 5 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

• Ability to manage a large operations work force in a high hazard environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel; ability to quickly learn new systems

• Time management and prioritization skill

The following preferred in this role:

• High hazard/chemical experience

• Previous Supervisory Experience in a manufacturing facility

• Effective communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)

• Relevant Engineering Degree

• Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with ability to influence managers, peers and team.
