Job Summary
A Production Engineer opportunity for the Search, Track Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office.
As a Defense Systems Production Engineer, you will serve as a critical technical authority regarding the manufacturability, quality, and configuration of advanced defense systems. This role requires a rigorous focus on technical data validation, factory floor execution, and strict adherence to military standards to ensure the continuous and secure delivery of mission-critical hardware, software, and firmware.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Data & Requirements
• Review and approve Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
• Read, interpret, and validate engineering drawings, MIL-STDs, and specifications.
• Ensure end-to-end requirements traceability across the product lifecycle.
Configuration Management (CM)
• Lead Configuration Management efforts across hardware, software, and firmware.
• Actively participate in and guide Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
• Execute rigorous Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) to maintain system integrity.
Quality & Manufacturing Oversight
• Conduct comprehensive factory floor audits.
• Oversee quality control processes and perform technical validations to ensure manufacturing baselines are met.
Industrial Base & Supply Chain
• Analyze defense manufacturing capabilities and industrial base issues.
• Implement and monitor Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) protocols to protect production continuity.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline
- An active Secret security clearance OR the ability to obtain and maintain one which requires US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- Applied knowledge of EIA-649 (Configuration Management).
- Applied knowledge of MIL-STD-31000 (Technical Data Packages).
- Applied knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems).
- Deep understanding of defense manufacturing processes.
- Supplier risk mitigation and supply chain risk management.
- Hardware, software, and firmware integration methodologies.
