Purpose:

Continuously improve safety, productivity, and quality at the Caliper machining manufacturing site, develop new models, and establish standardized processes to promote the optimization of mass production.

Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Improvement of Production Productivity 
  • Solving major quality Issues in terms of engineering points 
  • Actively participate in 5S Improvement at Shop floor
  • Complete assigned work in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Standardization of line operation including documentation
  • Promote continual improvement and cost saving opportunities.
  • Maintain prompt and effective communication to assure MCA success.
  • Increase first pass yield by improving measurement systems and optimize machining processes 
  • Investigate/mitigate risks associated to all processes by creating PFMEA and establishing control plans 
  • Manage process variation by reviewing quality reports and implement corrective action for all non-compliance to ensure/maintain process control and capability
  • Support new part development by reviewing and assessing engineering drawings 
  • Conducting and Managing Production line Try out to launch new model or for modification to relive load ratio
  • Work within the guidelines and expectations of MCA Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
  • Continuously demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. 

Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Understanding of GD&T for machining drawing 
  • Basic knowledge for Cutting tool and Cutting conditions at Machining Field
  • Comprehensive Understanding of CNC program 
  • Character which controls mindset during stressful situation
  • Character which makes good harmony with relevant Colleagues 
  • Understanding of Industrial Robot (6 axis or multi axis) 
  • Ability to train operators on basic line operation to achieve efficiency goals.
  • Ability to draw Jig and fixture 
  • Understanding of Gage system 
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and word. 
  • Proficient in Auto cad 
  • Able to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed.
  • Applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. (GPA)
  • Preferred 6 Sigma experience 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab etc.
  • Proficient in Autocad and Analysis in Geometric tolerance
  • Proficient in Software Programing and Comprehension
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Results oriented with strong problem solving/analytical skills
  • Excellent judgment (creative, problem-solver, sound decision maker).
  • Great planning skills.

Legal Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility

 

Working Conditions:

  •  PPE and safety shoes are required in the machining manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires prolonged standing and walking in a manufacturing environment

 

Remote Work: Occasional

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Understanding of GD&T for machining drawings
  • Basic knowledge of cutting tools and machining cutting conditions
  • Comprehensive understanding of CNC programming
  • Understanding of six-axis or multi-axis industrial robots
  • Ability to train operators on basic line operations
  • Ability to draw jigs and fixtures
  • Understanding of gage systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, and Minitab
  • Software programming and comprehension skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Planning, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work overtime during weekdays and weekends as needed
  • At least 18 years of age

  • Six Sigma experience
