Production Engineer – Ambulance & Special-Purpose Vehicles
We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to manage and coordinate the manufacturing, assembly and conversion of ambulances, mobile clinics and other special-purpose vehicles. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role will ensure that engineering designs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) are translated into safe, efficient and high-quality production processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate and monitor vehicle manufacturing, assembly and conversion activities.
Translate approved drawings, specifications and BOQs into production plans and workflows.
Oversee vehicle body modifications and the integration of mechanical, electrical and medical systems.
Allocate work, monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.
Coordinate with design, procurement, assembly and quality teams to resolve technical and production issues.
Ensure materials, components and equipment meet approved specifications.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
Conduct production inspections and maintain accurate technical and progress records.
Ensure compliance with applicable automotive, ambulance, quality and occupational safety standards.
Support testing, final inspection and handover of completed vehicles.
Bachelor’s degree in Production, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
Relevant experience in ambulance, automotive, commercial vehicle or special-purpose vehicle manufacturing.
Practical knowledge of vehicle body fabrication, assembly, electrical integration and mechanical systems.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and BOQs.
Strong production planning, problem-solving and team coordination skills.
Good understanding of quality control and workplace safety requirements.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Production, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
- Relevant experience in ambulance, automotive, commercial vehicle, or special-purpose vehicle manufacturing
- Practical knowledge of vehicle body fabrication, assembly, electrical integration, and mechanical systems
