Job Description


Essential Functions:

  • Follows fire pump controller project plans provided by the engineering department to execute all production functions, that include lay-out and mounting, electrical wiring, soldering, box preparation and final assembly;
  • May be assigned a particular function for projects in production; may be transferred to other functions at any time;
  • Performs any other tasks required by his supervisor.

Lay-out & Mounting:

  • Verifies kit of materials for each project to ensure that all required materials as per the project’s BOM are available;
  • Selects appropriate components and installs them on the mounting plate as per pre-engineered plan and instruction;
  • Completes any special mounting instructions ordered by customers.

Wiring:

  • Verifies panel mounting plates;
  • Follows standardize electrical schemes and instructions provided by the engineering department to execute the electrical wiring connection between the components installed on the panel plate;
  • Performs wiring control wiring, power wiring or basic added options as requested.

Box Preparation:

  • Prepares controller boxes by inserting handles, labels, lights, feet welding, transformer stud welding, and any extra options ordered by the customer.

Final Assembly:

  • Verifies box preparation and cabling of all panel plates;
  • Executes mechanical assembly of plates in the controller box;
  • Performs final assembly, which includes interconnections, power wiring, transformer wiring, emergency handle installation, handle mechanism installation and installation of labels.
  • May perform Pre-testing task depending on experience.

Work is done in a shop environment where production occurs in cells; the employee will be trained in all of the production functions for cases where displacement is required.
