ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Director plays a key role in overseeing and executing the technical aspects of worship services that support the church’s mission and vision. This role will work closely with the Worship Arts Director, oversee the Production staff, and direct multiple volunteer teams to ensure high-quality audio, lighting, and stage management across all our campus environments. This position will ensure a captivating and compelling sonic & visual experience that fulfills the church's mission by engaging and inspiring attendees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizational Leadership: Serve as Department Lead over Production staff who work under your leadership to serve the needs of the church. Effectively direct and lead staff with strong team culture values and serve as a supervisor of their growth, development, and execution of ministry needs.
  • Team Growth & Shepherding: Spend intentional time each week recruiting new Production Team Volunteers and building relationships with, shepherding, and caring for existing Production Team volunteers.
  • Service Production: Lead the Production Volunteer/Contractor teams to support all service execution – Lighting, Audio, Building AVL, Stage Management
  • Broadcast Audio: Lead and develop a Broadcast Audio volunteer team that will create incredible audio mixes for livestream broadcast
  • Event Production: Serve as Production Event Manager for various other ministries with their corresponding rooms, needs, and communication channels.
  • Equipment & Asset Management: Maintain and manage audio equipment, software, and hardware assets, ensuring all technical needs are met for event production.
  • Collaboration & Volunteer Coordination: Work with other department leaders, contractors, interns, and volunteers to execute at a high level.
  • Budgeting: Own, update, and manage the Production Dept. budget, ensuring all projects remain within budget. This includes tracking all current hardware inventory, communicating if and when a replacement or update is needed, and forecasting and budgeting for contractors as necessary.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay updated on audio and production trends, techniques, and technology to enhance the church’s production quality and presence.
  • Off-Site Events: Collaborate with other ministry leaders to support off-site camps and retreats that require production and worship elements. Be on-site at those venues to ensure quality of experience for attenders and execution of volunteer/intern roles.
  • Personal Development: Participate in ongoing training and leadership development activities as assigned by the Worship Director or other church leadership.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist with other production/media needs as required, including new gear installs, bi-annual stage plot refresh, and general technical upgrades to rooms and building.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in live event & church production, including audio mixing, service directing, and team leadership
  • Proficiency in Allen & Heath audio consoles, MA lighting consoles, ProTools, Q-Sys Control, and Dante network platform
  • Familiarity with LED wall rigging, hanging, and electrical system integration is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with church staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in audio, media, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
