About The Opportunity
Expected Compensation: $23.50Vacancy Status: Existing Vacancy
The Production Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production processes by managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting machine operations. This role involves purchasing materials, handling ink requests, maintaining the ink kitchen, assisting with inventory counts, and operating various production machines.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Purchasing and Inventory Management:
- Purchase glue and miscellaneous items as needed.
- Request inks from suppliers (e.g., Sun Chemicals) and manage drawdowns, sending samples to customers for approval.
- Verify inventory levels and manage stock to ensure continuous production.
- Ink Kitchen Management:
- Oversee the ink kitchen, ensuring proper storage and handling of inks.
- Maintain accurate records of ink usage and inventory.
- Production Support:
- Operate and maintain production machines, including Bobst (2931), Eterna (2932), Slitter (2970), and the cutting table (2938).
- Perform machine settings and small troubleshooting tasks to ensure efficient operation.
- Cycle Counts and Inventory Verification:
- Assist with monthly cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to address any issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers regarding material requests and approvals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot production machinery.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed.
- Standing for extended periods while operating machinery
- This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various production processes and machinery.
