Job Scope

The Digital Surgery Production Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of digital surgery cases throughout the manufacturing workflow—from case initiation through final shipment. This role serves as the central point of coordination and expediting across Case Management, Business Services, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, Software/Product, and offshore suppliers to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

This position plays a critical role in driving execution, visibility, and data integrity across digital production systems, including SAP and internal workflow tools. In addition to daily case coordination, the role supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance throughput, quality, and scalability of Acumed’s digital surgery operations.

Responsibilities

Daily Execution & Visibility

  • Lead daily production and operations update meetings to communicate case status, risks, constraints, and recovery plans
  • Maintain real-time visibility to work-in-process (WIP), priorities, and constraints across manufacturing areas
  • Proactively walk the shop floor daily to verify production status, identify delays, and resolve issues at the source

Expediting & Issue Resolution

  • Act as the primary expediter for all assigned patient-matched digital surgery cases from initiation through shipment
  • Actively expedite work through the manufacturing process to ensure on-time completion of priority and time-sensitive cases
  • Monitor case progress and identify bottlenecks, material shortages, capacity constraints, quality holds, or other blockers
  • Escalate risks, delays, urgent cases, rework, or priority changes early with clear communication and recommended recovery actions

Scheduling, Systems & Data Integrity

  • Coordinate and schedule patient-matched digital surgery cases across manufacturing equipment queues
  • Create, manage, and maintain production orders within SAP and related digital workflow systems
  • Ensure transactional accuracy, data integrity, and timely issue resolution across all production and planning systems
  • Ensure system status, transactions, and reporting accurately reflect shop floor operations reality

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between manufacturing, engineering, quality, logistics, case management, and other cross-functional partners
  • Align daily priorities with supervisors and leads to support focus on critical jobs and delivery commitments
  • Communicate changes in priorities clearly, consistently, and proactively across team

Accountability, Continuous Improvement & Development

  • Maintain accountability for timelines, handoffs, and execution standards by tracking commitments, following up on actions, and escalating issues as needed
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Case Management, and Software teams to improve throughput, quality, workflow efficiency, and system effectiveness
  • Collaborate with the Software Product Owner on system integrations, KPIs, dashboards, and workflow enhancements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Train and mentor new team members on workflow processes, planning standards, and execution expectations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in manufacturing operations or production coordination
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases under tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment with regular shop floor engagement
  • Ability to assess competing priorities, identify risk, and escalate issues appropriately to support on-time delivery
  • Experience maintaining alignment between system transactions and actual shop floor status
  • Customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-changing environment with incomplete information
  • Flexibility to support urgent or time-sensitive cases as required
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish proficiency preferred
