Summary/ Objective:

The Production Control Specialist position is responsible for issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the production floor, according to the production schedule. This position is also responsible for expediting and prioritizing work orders.


Essential Functions (but are not limited to):

  • Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.
  • Plan and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with the department manager to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Assist in minimizing interruptions to production schedules through effective parts and materials procurement practices.
  • Manage plant work schedules to recover from unplanned production down time in absence of the department manager.
  • Ability to use Plex to maximize resource planning.
  • Maintain effective communication with various groups such as customers, business development, etc., to ensure on-time delivery of products and team support.
  • Analyze sales orders releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Provides timely and accurate information to incoming customer order status and product requests.
  • Ability to recognize and solve or offer suggestions to solve problems.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Other Duties:

Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or related area or equivalent work experience. 
  • 3 years minimum Production Control/ Customer Service experience with a demonstrated track-record of success. Automotive industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP software, experience with Plex is preferred.
  • Proficient personal computer and system software skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt to changes in priorities and direction

Environment:

  • Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.
  • Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.

Physical Demands:


  • Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floor.
  • Must be able to traverse the entire facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 33 pounds at times.
  • Extended period of sitting at a computer is possible.

Skills Required
