Production Associate 

JOB SUMMARY/SCOPE

The Production Associate will be responsible for preparing, assembling, packaging, and labeling food products while maintaining quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements and reinforcing safe behaviors across the team.
  • Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety program,complying with all safety and GMP requirements.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain food processing equipment according to established procedures.
  • Assist with assembly, packaging, and labeling of products to meet production goals.
  • Follow recipes, measurements, and product specifications to ensure consistency.
  • Follow proper training procedures when handling raw ingredients to ensure products meet designed specifications.
  • Ensure that there is enough material (boxes, totes, bags, raw materials, etc.) to perform tasks.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operating correctly at respective position. Immediately report any equipment malfunction to Production Leader.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Report any product inconsistencies or defects to the supervisor.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and tools before, during, and after shifts.
  • Use any down time to assist with cleaning the department or production line and area or other duties as assigned.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to resolve issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Previous experience in food processing, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 50lbs for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Able to Speak, Read, and Understand English. 
  • Basic math skills for measurements and production tracking
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • As required, works in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.
  • May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals and biological materials. 
  • Frequently exposed to some of the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk and Wheat)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including off shifts and weekends. 
  • Comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments for extended periods of time (cold or warm).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
