The Opportunity:

The Product Development team is integral in maintaining Keystone's core values and Light Made Easy promise. The team is responsible for creating new products and improving the performance, cost, and/or quality of existing products to achieve business goals.

The Production Art Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting the Production Artist team while establishing the tools, standards, templates, and workflows that drive consistent, high-quality execution across all product documentation and packaging assets. This role combines people leadership, technical expertise, and process improvement to ensure efficient creation of product artwork, specification sheets, instruction manuals, renderings, and other product-related collateral.

The Production Art Manager serves as the team's subject matter expert in production design, packaging standards, artwork execution, and emerging technologies. This role actively develops scalable resources, template systems, and AI-enabled workflows that improve team productivity, accuracy, and consistency while fostering the professional growth and technical skills of Production Artists.

Your Impact:

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and support the Production Artist team, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented culture.

  • Provide ongoing training, feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance technical, creative, and communication skills.

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, and development planning with direct reports.

  • Establish clear expectations, quality standards, and best practices for artwork creation and production processes.

  • Guide artists in developing stronger project ownership, cross-functional communication, problem-solving abilities, and professional growth.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for design, production, workflow, and technical challenges.

Workflow Management & Project Support

  • Manage team workload, priorities, and resource allocation to ensure project deadlines are met.

  • Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, and Project Management teams to define priorities, confirm due dates, and allocate resources.

  • Track project progress in Wrike, ensuring adherence to deadlines and clear communication across stakeholders.

  • Support high-priority initiatives and complex projects requiring advanced production expertise.

  • Provide visibility to leadership regarding team capacity, workload trends, and improvement opportunities.

Artwork Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of product packaging, specification sheets, technical data sheets, instruction manuals, carton labels, renderings, and other product deliverables.

  • Review and approve artwork to ensure technical accuracy, brand consistency, and compliance with established standards.

  • Develop and maintain quality control processes that minimize errors and improve first-pass approval rates.

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Project Management, Marketing, Engineering, and Compliance teams to ensure deliverables meet business requirements.

  • Serve as the team's technical expert in production design, print production, and file preparation.

  • Support training and onboarding of new team members and assist in software troubleshooting as needed.

System Optimization & Process Improvement

  • Partner with Marketing to further align and integrate Wrike usage across departments, creating consistency in project tracking, timelines, reporting, and documentation.

  • Develop and document production standards, best practices, and QA procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all outputs.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to streamline team operations, reduce production errors, and enhance efficiency.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on operational effectiveness and scalability.

  • Maintain organized file structures and documentation systems that support efficient asset management and future growth.

  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Templates, Workflow Optimization & AI Innovation

  • Develop and maintain scalable templates, tools, and resources for packaging, specifications, instructions, technical documentation, and other production assets.

  • Establish and enforce artwork standards, documentation requirements, file organization, and version control best practices.

  • Lead workflow improvements through process optimization, automation, and AI-powered solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and streamline production workflows.

  • Partner with Marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure templates, standards, and processes align with brand guidelines and business needs.

  • Create and maintain training materials, reference documentation, and best practices that support team consistency, onboarding, and professional development.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field required.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a production artist or graphic design role, with at least 2 years in a team lead or management capacity.

  • Experience working with technical products (electrical, electronic, or lighting) preferred.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment.

  • Experience designing and implementing production templates and style guides.

  • Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and digital workflow management.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about team development and process improvement.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring creative or production teams.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (Wrike preferred) and strong reporting/analytics capabilities.

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat.

  • Deep understanding of design theory, typography, color, print production, and technical specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to effectively present ideas, influence decisions, and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Comfortable collaborating across departments and balancing creative and technical needs.

  • Minimal travel (tradeshow, meetings, etc).
