The Role
As a Production Application Engineer, you will lead production phases, manage GPU server KPIs, debug issues, and support ODM partners.
Summary Generated by Built In

NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 fueled the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. This is our life’s work — to amplify human creativity and intelligence. Are you ready to help us change the world?

Our team takes pride in building a wide range of products — GPU PCIe cards, SHIELD consumer devices, Jetson embedded platforms, DRIVE autonomous vehicle technologies, modular data center architectures, and more. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help bring ground-breaking datacenter technologies to life at our manufacturing partner sites. NVIDIA is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Application Engineer to join our team. In this key role, you will serve as the primary interface with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) partners, managing all GPU server-related aspects of the L6, L10, and L11 production phases. You will take ownership from initial production line evaluations through to final production shipments—ensuring production KPIs are met, driving problem-solving efforts, and leading continuous process improvements at every major milestone.

This Production Application Engineer will provide onsite support for our factory in Houston, TX.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead debug test configuration and flow, driving efficient failure analysis (FA) and issue triage. (e.g., manufacturing defects, yield issues, bonepile recovery)

  • Assist partners in achieving Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Oversee L6, L10 & L11 server production readiness

  • Drive and validate ODM production readiness for L10 and L11 phases

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for ODMs on L10 and L11 Production

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Provide onsite support for our factory in Houston, TX.

  • 3+ years of experience in a hardware system engineering, production engineering or manufacturing engineering role

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including assembly, test, and quality control

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to root cause analysis

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment

  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally (25-50%)

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Hands-on experience in datacenter product engineering, failure analysis, debugging, or GPU server design

  • Proven track record in managing production schedules at factories and monitoring yield rates

  • Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
