Job Description
Within Corporate Sector and Global Supplier Services (GSS), the Technology Product Management (TPM) team is responsible for overseeing all technology platforms for Global Supplier Services (GSS) businesses. The existing product suite that supports these businesses vary in terms of development and hosting models including internally developed software hosted on JPMC infrastructure to Software as a Service hosted in third party cloud providers. These include products related to supplier selection (e.g. Ariba), supplier payment (e.g. SAP), supplier risk management (e.g. COMPASS and 4Site), contingent labor management (i.e. Beeline), employee expense management (e.g. Concur and smartApproval) and others. The organization maintains a service oriented relationship with key leaders and stakeholders across Global Supplier Services (GSS) to ensure the technology platforms serve their needs and are properly maintained. The Technology Product Management team sets the strategic direction for the Global Supplier Services (GSS) technology roadmap and is staffed with product managers responsible for one or a collection of products.
This great opportunity to join the Approvals Product Team, will enable you to work with different aspects of the firm's financial approval authority repository and centralized approval portal, smartApproval. smartApproval is an internally built software which routes approvals for 80+ systems and handles 12 million approvals per year across all Lines of Business. The primary focus for the selected candidate will be working with various technical groups to assist them with on-boarding their applications to smartApproval and enforcing their compliance of approval-related best practices. This person will be expected to provide exceptional customer service while resolving integration and end user inquiries originating from all levels of the organization and collaborate with other team members to execute our product roadmap. They will interface directly with end users, key business stakeholders, control/audit officers and technical system groups located across the globe in India, US, and UK on a daily basis.
Job responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to support product vision and map strategic path forward in a product roadmap
  • Know Your Customer - Gather user feedback to learn and empathize with product users
  • Identify problems, detect emerging trends, and perform root cause analysis on pain points gathered from customer intelligence data to influence product feature development
  • Articulate design options to stakeholders and technology partners
  • Provide a structured framework to assist stakeholders to prioritize diverse conflicting product features
  • Influence a cross-functional team of developers, design, and stakeholders to focus on the right things to build
  • Manage third party vendor relationship in partnership with the Business Owner and Technology
  • Manage vendor tickets/cases including opening, updating and closing
  • Manage change request process including controls, approval, testing and implementation
  • Manage the UAT and production configuration and implementation changes
  • Perform configuration and system administrative support
  • Communicate issues and resolutions to senior management and stakeholders
  • Support Business Owner and Technology Owners with project management on cross-team projects ie. Acquisitions, Approval initiatives, Legal Entity Mergers, system upgrades, etc.
  • Develop presentation decks with mock-ups to illustrate designs to stakeholders and technology partners
  • Develop prototypes to explore and test design options on users
  • Dissect large product feature ideas into bite size user stories
  • Play the Product Owner role as part of an engineering scrum team
  • Prepare the Organization for upcoming releases by presenting demos and providing training to customer support teams
  • Partner with analytics team to monitor KPI performance and impacts of new features


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years in software Product Management or related field preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of API services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer service centric focus
  • Experience with Agile as Product Owner using KanBan and Scrum processes
  • Experience with software application development and testing tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and ALM or similar tools
  • Prior experience in Travel and Expense, Invoice, Ticketing and Events and/or approvals related applications a plus
  • Persuasive with the ability to influence without authority
  • Collaborative individual who is comfortable receiving and giving feedback
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who is well organized and takes ownership
  • Effective prioritization and time management skills
  • Experience in root cause analysis, identifying process flaws and process improvement methodologies
  • Ability to document conceptual, technical and operational information accurately and clearly
  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of a client's business and actively seeks input to anticipate client needs & effectively meets or exceeds them
  • Strong communication and customer service skills (verbal and written); able to deliver clear, concise and timely messages, with the ability to tailor the information based on the audience
  • Comfortable presenting to a large crowd
  • Be able to lead a meeting with difficult participants
  • Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Alteryx, Qlikview skills are a plus
  • Location: Columbus, OH or Plano, TX
