Senior Technical Program Manager

Chewy’s Pet Health is on a mission to build innovative solutions for our customers and our partner vets, such as our recent launch of Chewy’s first Telehealth service and Compounding Pharmacy. Engineering plays a critical role in defining and executing our platform roadmap. Your Role:
As a Senior Technical Program Manager on the Pet Health engineering team, you will be a key driver behind initiatives for Chewy’s new and growing Pet Health line of business. This entails not only being a member of the technical program management team, but also innovating the process and development strategies to support Chewy’s explosive growth in customers, sales, and team expansion. This is not the standard program management role, as this role is building application support structure from the ground up which means getting in the trenches and participating in activities across the board.
Responsibilities:
- Own the implementation, enhancement and support for Chewy’s Pet Health line of business
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to define requirements which meet business needs and set priorities for the development team, and continuously make sure your team is delivering according to the constantly growing needs of the business
- Work with engineering team to resolve bottlenecks to help deliver final system deliverables
- Coordinate activities across different organizational functions for initiatives
- Review and report on progress for initiatives/projects, managing project risks - including the development of contingency plans
- Own the final system deliverables and the overall roadmap for your area of responsibility
- Measure, report and continuously improve scrum team’s effectiveness via mentoring and coaching
- Manage relationships with vendors, oversee all vendor engagements (including day-to-day support, service tickets and ad-hoc consulting services) for your area of responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven Software Engineering experience delivering commercial and mission-critical software
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Program or Product Management
- Technical savvy, including hands-on knowledge/skill of system integration
- Agile experience (Scrum Master, Product Owner)
- Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design
- Proven ability to work with multiple development teams, while helping in breaking down requirements to work items
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Capability to identify and mitigate development and implementation risks
- Bachelor’s Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
- Experience in web technologies and frameworks such as React, Angular and TypeScript
- Experience in backend technologies such as Java
- Experience with CI/CD processes and releases management
- Experience in e-commerce or Healthcare
