About the Role
Shared Rides is an important part of Uber's portfolio of products geared towards price-sensitive riders or people who just want to save the planet by sharing one ride at a time.
As a Product Manager on the Shared Rides team, you will develop and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap that enables a magical experience when sharing a ride with others while allowing our drivers to earn more, faster. You will work with star engineers, data scientists, and product designers in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, hybrid technology + operations environment to bring fast, easy, and affordable mobility options to millions of users across the globe.
What the Candidate Will Do:

  • Own a product roadmap and lead vision, definition, and execution for building Shared rides products
  • Work with engineering and data scientists to define the success of the product launches. Work with design to define the next generation of shared rides features to improve the affordability of Uber's Rides business
  • Identify and build new opportunities for the price-sensitive customer who is currently using other means of transportation
  • Work closely with cross-functional and technical teams across Uber to align business and product strategy.
  • Work with researchers to conduct a program of quantitative and qualitative insight gathering and evaluation
  • Prioritize stories and features to deliver the most value to users quickly

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of product management experience delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them -- and you're deeply proud of what you've accomplished
  • User-centricity- examples from your past product challenges that you powered through because you were unwilling to make your problems your users' problems.
  • Technically proficient - you have collaborated with engineers in developing the technical architecture of the products you have built.l

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: Prior experience setting and delivering on a strategy you crafted, where you were accountable for the outcomes.
  • Strategic - you can craft a coherent product vision, multi-year strategy, and quarterly roadmap that your team and the business rallies behind.
  • Experience building products from 0 to 1
  • Passion for Uber's mission and the company's hybrid technology/operations nature
  • Data-savvy - you find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to use this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
