The Unified Search Team at Optum is working to bring industry-leading search technology and user experiences to tens of millions of healthcare consumers and providers. We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager to help define and drive what world class search experiences across our family of sites and across platforms will look like. Reporting to the General Manger of Unified Search, they will partner closely with Engineering and collaborate with numerous verticals across the Optum/United Healthcare enterprise.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the product owner for the Unified Search Experience across UHC properties
  • Work with Journey owner and lines of business to obtain voice of customer (VOC) and identify capabilities to add to the product/journey
  • Aid in the prioritization of feature development and backlog to ensure that priorities adhere to the strategic direction
  • Ensure features are directly tied to OKRs
  • Communicate changes in strategic direction or priority shifts to cross-functional teams
  • Escalation of issues that could impact the budget, timeline, or strategic vision
  • Collaborate with technical partners and development teams to ensure proper execution of product vision, strategy, and features
  • Balance stakeholder needs and expectations using data-driven prioritization strategies
  • overall product strategy and roadmap are executed and aligned across portfolios where required
  • Effectively looks up and out to influence multi-portfolio capabilities and their dependencies
  • Monitor budget at the product/journey level
  • Serve as an intermediary between business and architecture/engineering teams and subjectively traverse when needed
  • Understand the infrastructure/technology/flow of product/journey
  • Understand the system components and how they integrate
  • Positively influence outcomes across complex capabilities / initiatives
  • Consistently maintains a growth mindset
  • Present to large audiences, both technical and non-technical
  • Serve as an influential voice for product management strategies
  • Ability to build solid and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of technical product management experience
  • 2+ years of experience with agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (within a STEM field)
  • MBA
  • Agile Certifications
  • 7+ years of experience working in a product management role in a data-centric environment
  • Ability to manage partner (internal and external) expectations and scope expectations through significant collaboration and partnership
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, understand, and drive resolution of complex critical issues
  • Exceptional cross-functional management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical and non-technical employees
