Senior Product Manager of Operations for oversight of Optum Care Technology Products. Responsible for the full product lifecycle management including: strategy, design, development, management and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products. Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings. Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs. Accountable to and/or own the P&L. Partner with internal or external stakeholders (key customers, product partnerships, etc.) to define and drive future product direction.

Products within the portfolio enable analytics and processes supporting clinical quality initiatives, risk adjustment excellence and opportunities to address efficiencies and affordability in healthcare delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish product operations function to ensure product excellence across the portfolio
  • Manage month product reviews, MBOs and capital investments
  • Build change management plan to educate the organization on product management and ensure continuous improvement
  • Review product strategies across the portfolio to ensure quality and success
  • Partner with executives and business leads to crystallize desired business outcomes and return on investment; interrogate solutions to generate hypotheses and uncover insights that will increase the effectiveness of each new iteration of the work while supporting the long-term vision of the capabilities
  • Translate business opportunities, consumer and physician strategy and technical assets into clear, prioritized product/capability requirements
  • You'll influence major cross-functional efforts that pull together teams from across the enterprise to drive common requirements and consistent focus
  • Manage capabilities of the team to develop and maintain a long-term view; ensure there are adequate resources and tools, and be responsible for maintaining and improving the team's knowledge, expertise and skill sets in agile product management, product ownership, data management platforms, and key consumer healthcare domains and market needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of product leadership/product owner experience
  • 4+ years of experience with large-scale analytic and technology products
  • 4+ years of experience establishing product operations
  • Experience creating a roadmap of capability execution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Agile delivering and transforming teams
  • Ability to travel 10% nationwide

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience
  • Strategic Formulation: The ability to see the business in its competitive context and realistically identify, translate and prioritize the strategic decisions
  • Change Management: Understanding the stresses and risks inherent in significant organizational change and mobilize the organization behind the change objective, clearly articulating the nature of the desired change, preparing people for the new requirements placed upon them and reinforcing the message until the change is adopted
  • Demonstrated experience effectively leading a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Ability to build strong working partnerships and deep relationships across a diverse functional and business matrix structure
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of market share concepts, Artificial Intelligence and new technologies (Cloud, Snowflake, etc)
  • Tool knowledge - Aha and Rally

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut and/or Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
