Quantitative Product Scientist

We’re looking for a Product Scientist to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Product Science team, you will be identifying product strategies by synthesizing mixed-method analysis and leading cross-functional collaboration across multiple product spaces. Working from our headquarters in Santa Monica, you’ll collaborate closely with the Engineering, Data Science, Product Managers and Product Design teams to lead strategic research to help step ahead of short-term planning and provide clear company-wide prioritization and impact.
What you’ll do:
Lead company-wide strategic research; identify both long and mid-term product strategies; understanding and executing strategies in each market
Employ a variety of statistical, qualitative, quantitative, and ML methods to accomplish strategic research goals; create high-quality, sensitive metrics that can guide product decisions;
Discover data that reveals true customer needs identifying novel solutions to problems.
Write research specs and papers and advocate your research findings to Software Engineering, Product Managers, Product Design teams and Product Leads about usable and scalable solutions for boosting growth of the Snapchat app and engagement of various Snap products. Support other teams with insights implementation
Collaborate on building an implementation framework and a process by which we define a strategy for cross-functional initiatives to introduce more formal measurement while increasing transparency and innovation
Identify opportunities to establish new points-of-views on trends and insights and develop new capabilities including implementing an outsourced/vendor operating model to scale bandwidth and research expertise
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience planning and executing complex research projects in a product group or business area, working across multiple projects simultaneously
Experience in working on projects of large scope that contribute to the greater research/product team through mentoring, culture, subject matter, or research expertise
Experience working with large-scale data in multi-method studies
Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives
Experience building meaningful cross-functional relationships
A team player who can collaborate and build trust with engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists and other cross-functional teammates
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to plan, prioritise and manage your workload across multiple projects
Ability to partner with Growth, Revenue, Engineering and R&D teams
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
3+ years relevant experience within data based product research at a consumer technology company or digital entertainment or a venture capital firm focused on customer technology or digital entertainment.
Fluency in SQL or other big data querying language, experience with data visualization tools (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Tableau)
Experience in quantitative analysis or data science
Experience with Python, Pandas, scikit-learn
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years in a senior research role at a consumer technology company
Degree in statistics, analytics, mathematics, computer science, or related technical field
Experience with product design or product management
Experience with machine learning
