The team:

The Marketplace Risk & Protections team manages a range of programs and platforms that enable millions of buyers and sellers to engage and transact on eBay with confidence. We strive to ensure customers have experiences that meet or exceed retail standards. This includes developing best-in-class post-transaction experiences for our customers worldwide.

The role:

We are looking for a skilled business manager who will help evolve our buyer protection programs to enhance trust and drive conversion. This is a hands-on position where you will undertake business analysis, define policy, develop strategy, and work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver products and programs that meet customer needs and expectations.

You will:

  • Support development of our post-transaction program and product roadmaps
  • Identify enhancements to our Unauthorized Use and eBay Money Back Guarantee programs that improve customer experience while delivering business goals
  • Collaborate with regions and product teams to define business requirements and success metrics
  • Collaborate with customer service, marketing, legal, and analytics teams to develop activation plans to ramp new experiences
  • Collaborate with Risk, compliance, and finance to ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage financial and regulatory risks
  • Present program outcomes and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders



Skills and Experience

  • Three to 5 years experience at online or retail businesses driving customer experience changes required
  • Strong background in analytics with demonstrable ability to produce research and make data-driven decisions (ability to query in SQL required)
  • Demonstrated success contributing to strategy, driving business decisions, and executing cross-functionally across matrixed organizations
  • Committed to results: biased toward action, a great collaborator and simplifier, constantly pushing toward transparency and deliver
  • Able to balance attention to detail with swift execution: we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well
  • Able to support and deliver a portfolio of projects simultaneously
  • Project management or program management experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with other business teams. Ability to make presentations with business partner community.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access) including the use of pivot tables required
  • Bachelor's degree (graduate degree preferred) from a major educational institution is required
