Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist and work alongside our Product Manager(s) as the Product Owner for any assigned R&D product development projects
• Provide technical expertise to the business teams and keep them updated on development side activities
• Act as the primary interpreter of business needs to the technical teams, and own the creation and management of product specifications
• Lead the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
• Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of well-prepared tasks to work on
• Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
• Assist in defining product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities
• Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
• Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
• Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
• Support the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new products and features
• Maintain documentations and any materials that are both internal and external
• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
• Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
• Follow our competitors and the industry
• Keep abreast with Agile best practices and new trends

Requirements
Job Requirements

• Previous verifiable working experience as a Product Owner for 3 years
• Excellent documentation and specification creation skills
• Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
• Excellent command of at least business level English
• In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
• Live within a daily commutable range to UTC area in San Diego, CA (but the work is hybrid)
• BA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
• Must be a US Citizen or have unrestricted and continuing employment authorization in the US

Major Plus

• Experience in working in multi-country /multi-cultural environments
• Experience in the automotive industry
• Business-level Japanese
