A snapshot of what you would do:

The Data Product Manager is responsible for growing the smartvm database by securing new data contributors and identifying third party data providers to supplement our data asset. The role will involve identifying potential organizations, data providers, and industry groups that could add value to our smartvm database. The Data Product Manager will collaborate with development, data, sales, and marketing teams to bring data quality and product features to the smartvm product.

Primary Tasks/Activities:

  • Source and manage new data that may complement our existing smartvm database.
  • Be a subject matter expert in all aspects of smartvm. This includes a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the product and the underlying data used.
  • Oversee data cleansing, enrichment and drive data issue remediation using Data Governance defined standards. Monitor and enforce data quality.
  • Investigate and evolve new data sources, mappings, identifying key signals and attributes for proprietary and partnership data.
  • Partner with the data, smartvm, and analytics teams to analyze, clean and structure data that can be used by APEX, our clients, and our partners.
  • Work with our Quantitative Analytics team to build machine learning techniques to improve and expand existing and new models within the smartvm platform to optimize performance, profile suppliers, quantify accuracy, and predict results.
  • Partner with other APEX data owners on consolidation of internal data that populates smartvm, e.g., Imports from Commercial / FSCore and Portal.
  • Define and prioritize data product requirements and develop and maintain a product roadmap.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Components:

  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity, poise, maturity, and precision both written and verbal.
  • Ability to create and document functional requirements for development team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Technical expertise in data, its standardization and transformation.
  • Must understand data flows, data profiling, and statistical analysis.
  • Software implementation experience
  • Good understanding of Accounts Payable & procurement principles, including Accounts Payable best practices
  • Project Management skills, including creation of project plans and regular executive status reporting



Experience (Years and types):

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience with customer or supplier information management or data product.
  • 5+ of experience with data and business insights analysis which identify and drive ongoing excellence in data quality practices.


  • Experience with SQL and BI tools.
  • Experience managing products through their entire life cycle with a track record of successful delivery of commercial products.
  • Experience in Supply Information Management is desirable.



Education Levels/Credentials (Degree types and Emphasis):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
