About the Role
Have you ever opened the Uber Rides app and been frustrated that surge was too high, or maybe even worse, there were no drivers available? Have you requested a ride and not been prepared for a high wait time and needed to cancel? Uber's Marketplace Dynamics team creates unique rider and driver experiences to tackle these supply-demand imbalances challenges. The team is cross-functionally staffed with both economists and operations research experts to tune matching & surge algorithms as well as designers & mobile engineering teams to build rider and driver experiences to improve the entire marketplace experience for users. Over the years, this team has built the offer experience seen millions of times a day by drivers as well as the rider experience when waiting to match with a driver. This team has also innovated our product portfolio and built real-time offers from the Marketplace such as Non-stop shared Rides, which allows riders to get Pool-style pricing with no detours when on trip. Looking forward, we need a seasoned PM to build product experiences to pick the right trips to fulfill in sparse supply markets and explore new vectors of growth on price/reliability curves (e.g. provide a driver with higher utilization when in a sparse area with a rider looking for a lower price in a denser area). This role is critical by sitting at the heart of Uber's dispatch systems and unlocks future growth by providing riders access to more affordable rides. If you love algorithms and creating user experiences to solve really painful problems, you'll fit right in.

• Take broad, conceptual requirements & work closely with engineering to make them a reality• Own a product roadmap and lead vision, definition, and execution for building Uber's Marketplace products• Work with engineers, designers, and data scientists to define success of how we improve affordability for Uber Rides• Own cross functional syncs with teams on Pricing, Fares, Rider Experience, and Ops to ensure products are adopted and well understood by riders and drivers as well as profitable for the business• Thrive in an environment of fast feedback loops and an attitude of rapid iterations
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of product management or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• A track record of partnering with engineering and data science to build complex, data-driven systems that deliver compelling customer value• Experience working on consumer-facing technology• Academic background or equivalent work experience in computer science, data science, statistics, machine learning, economics, or engineering• A passion to apply technology and data to change how people move
