About the Team
Financial Aid is on a mission to support institutional and student success by reimagining the process through holistic and intuitive experiences. We are passionate about solving sophisticated financial aid requirements and building a system that simplifies the daily experience of administrators and students.
We are looking for an inbound Product Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, has a desire to craft solutions for the higher education market, and is excited to join our mission!

About the Role

In Financial Aid,

We are the voice of the customer: Talk to customers to understand what features customers need/want to advise the product roadmap. Liaise with relevant parties, including development, QA, documentation, product support, etc., to facilitate the release process. Resolve customer critical issues as needed.

We collaborate: Serve as a user-representative who can convey functional requirements to technical audiences and drive the product development life cycle. Point of contact for internal teams such as consultants, production support, training, documentation and sales. Provide field teams with demos or presentations to prospective customers. Teamwork and collaboration is the key to success.

We execute: Plan releases and set roadmaps. Design features and define functional requirements, then track and report progress against goals. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of the product using Agile.

About You

You enjoy the challenges of taking on ambiguous problems and understanding how to approach working with a team of people to craft and deliver solutions. Ideally, you have a background in financial aid or experience with software development practices and are familiar with agile methodologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with SaaS Solutions, software product design, UX, and UI, with previous experience building products within an Agile environment or 3+ years for experience in financial aid
  • 3+ years of proven experience working in a relevant field (software development or higher education) as a Product Owner/Manager, Business Analyst, Consultant, or Financial Aid Administrator

  • A highly motivated, quick learner, who thrives on creatively and solving tough problems
  • Thinking analytically and being able to decompose complicated requirements is critical to being successful in this role.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to easily and intuitively adapt content to various types of audiences
  • Propensity to be curious and explore new ideas and information
  • Listens actively to understand others' points of view
  • Sees setbacks as opportunities to further adapt and learn
  • Ability to provide insights and metrics on adoption, usage, and customer health to the product team
  • Ability to work independently with general direction and mentorship
