The Marketing Technology organization is hiring for a Lead Product Manager, Marketing Automation Platforms. In this role, you will be Optum's key technical resource for all things B2C or B2B Marketing Automation at UnitedHealth Group (UHG). This will include the implementation of new investments that UHG has made in marketing automation platforms, support the organization's current marketing automation platforms, and help to migrate the organization off legacy marketing automation platforms.
The candidate must have demonstrated technical success and a proven track record of solid product management, transformation, and capability management leading to sustainable, scalable solutions. Success will be defined by the candidate's ability to support UHG Marketing and Marketing Operations teams in their marketing automation success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive technical product vision and roadmap
  • Engage appropriate enterprise-wide stakeholders to enable awareness and alignment
  • Lead the product across its entire lifecycle using defined processes and industry best practices
  • Know the market, to effectively identify and frame new technology products and solve business challenges
  • Define solutions with high-value requirements, a compelling business case, clear product positioning, priority and strategic impact
  • Partner with stakeholders to enable successful development, delivery, and adoption of technology solutions
  • Manage ongoing product performance, expansion, financial health, roadmap and end-of-life decision as appropriate
  • Serve as the product champion and apply deep expertise to credibly represent, manage and engage with business(es)
  • Collaborate with business product managements journey/product owners and managers, and technical stakeholders in advancing work forward to meet obligations that deliver a holistic solution
  • Builds relationships across stakeholders (product and technology) to appropriately leverage SMEs in removing obstacles and resolving conflict
  • Actively facilitates an understanding of product model and culture across teams to tell the story of product both internally and externally
  • Understands primary capabilities within the portfolio / product line
  • Promotes product strategy and feature roadmap development by supporting product backlog of enhancements and new features
  • Leads cross-functional teams, and communicates challenges and opportunities to stakeholders/direct leadership
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories to ensure work aligns with product strategy
  • Partners with engineering teams to understand high level end to end solutions including data flows
  • Helps drive continuous feedback loops to guarantee teams are focused on the needs of the customer
  • Participates in product backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and high-level release planning

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with demonstrated accomplishments delivering project features/capabilities
  • 2+ years of delivery experience as part of an Agile delivery teams, within a formal agile delivery program
  • Practitioner level knowledge of one or more marketing automation tools, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Marketo, Oracle Eloqua, or similar
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing databases, marketing technology best practices, and capability optimization


Preferred Qualification:

  • Adobe Certified Expert, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator, or Eloqua Certified Implementation Professional
  • Agile certification
  • Solid analytical, organizational and relationship building skills
  • Ability to analyze information from various sources

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
