The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Junior Filmmaker to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating compelling content for our various technology series, customer success stories, and other marketing materials. You'll need to have technical understanding of camera, audio, and lighting to ensure that productions live up to our high-quality standards. You'll also need to have organizational skills and focus on detail to be able to assist on productions and edits. As a Junior Filmmaker, you will edit video, mix audio, and add graphics to help our team release episodes on a regular basis. You will collaborate closely with other team members, including creative directors, art directors, producers, writers, designers, and project managers to deliver on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
What you will do
- Help with preproduction for series and customer success videos
- Set up cameras, lighting, and sound by yourself for shoots in our studio
- Help facilitate shoots in the studio and help maintain the studio space
- Help with media management for the entire team
- Travel to shoots domestically and internationally
- Edit videos on your own and alongside other editors and filmmakers
- Select music and sound effects and mix audio
- Deliver files for multiple channels
- Meet deadlines and milestones while following all file management standards
- Ensure that everything we create adheres to our Red Hat brand standards, including voice and tone as well as look and feel
- Participate fully as a team member by contributing solutions for continually improving efficiency and quality of work
- Handle multiple tasks, problem-solve, and maintain a proactive attitude
- Use constructive criticism as a vehicle for improving your skills and knowledge
- Learn about Red Hat's differentiated open source offerings and solutions and understand technical and business concepts
- Occasionally consult with various experts and teams throughout the company, including the Marketing, Engineering, and IT teams, executives, etc.
What you will bring
- 2+ years of experience working as a filmmaker, editor, or in another associated field
- Understanding of cameras and lenses and related gear
- Knowledge of lights and lighting setups and related gear
- Understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition
- Knowledge of codecs, compression, and video standards
- Knowledge of color correction and color grading
- Media management experience is a plus
