As a Director of Technical Product Management for Optum Behavioral Health FACETS direct core administration platform, you help shape the platform vision, strategy, roadmap for 10+ technology teams to meet the needs of OBH's members, providers, internal & external customers. You will work with talented technology individuals, channel partners, engineering leaders, and architects to define the administrative system strategy and roadmap in Claim Administration, Benefits Configuration, and related services to bring competitive advantage to OBH in its product offering. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Crafts a meaningful technology vision for the platform and communicates it to engineering teams, operational partners, and other stakeholders
  • Validates enhancements with marketplace via user testing, pilots, and beta groups
  • Pro-actively identifies needs/priorities of audience and provides relevant information when sharing insights, including facts and explanation of decision-making criteria
  • Develops an intimate understanding of Clinical Process and products across the enterprise that use our products and capabilities and maintain a list of contact, SMEs and operational leaders that support them
  • Observes User interactions with product; Dialogues with stakeholders on implications and modifications; Accurately represents customer needs with internal stakeholders; and in related plans
  • Gathers and analyzes user and client feedback on our products (complaints, NPS results, user panels, etc.)
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and other Product Managers who can provide insights into business strategies, trends, and opportunities
  • Tells the story of the product both internally and externally; Provides subject matter expertise; Joins sales team on calls to offer expertise
  • Gathers and publish metrics that assess product usage and health
  • Creates and regularly updates a 1-2 year product roadmap
  • Monitors industry technology roadmaps; Recommends innovation in digital and relevant channel strategies
  • Drives innovation into our product portfolio in collaboration with business, operational and technology leaders by identifying opportunities to use emerging technologies
  • Actively works across teams and products to find synergies and duplication; works with teams to leverage opportunities or remove obstacles
  • Negotiates win-win solutions across teams and lines of business (cross application / cross portfolio)
  • Enables new connections / relationships among partners across multiple portfolio teams
  • Guilds leadership-level alignment across organization
  • Works with stakeholders to gather data and define opportunities and all supporting Cost Business Analyses (CBAs)
  • Effectively presents product opportunities in leadership discussions / funding decisions
  • Drives forecasting and planning activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of experience in Core FACETS product V5.6 and above specifically in Claims, Members, Provider, Benefits, Workflow Configuration areas
  • 4+ years of product ownership or product management (or equivalent) experience
  • 4+ years of experience working in an agile or scaled agile development environment
  • Experience with FACETS product upgrade release features analysis, assessment, business implementations, and adoption
  • Solid understanding about the structure and significance of key HIPAA X12 EDI transactions like 837, 835, 277CA, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Core Claims processing, Facets UI, Facets Workflow, NetworX pricer
  • Solid understanding of Configuration of Products, Product components, Limits, Deductibles, Accumulators, Service payments
  • Provide support through analyzing customer requirements and provide recommendations through interactions with the customer
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
  • Familiarity with software development concepts and comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation and working with developers, solution architects and other technical staff
  • Awareness of emerging technologies such as IoT, AI/ML, blockchain, NLP, and genomics and how they may impact the healthcare industry
  • Comfortable facing out to internal and external customers and users and all levels
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and experience presenting to medium sized groups


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile product owner or agile leader certification
  • Experience working in clinical software product development
  • Experience working with clinical operations
  • Architecture or other technical experience
  • Strategic thinker

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut and/or Nevada residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
