About the job
The Red Hat Product Security team is adding a Director, Product Security Compliance in North America. In this role, you will oversee a team focused on compliance activities for our managed services, including FedRAMP, SOC2, Common Criteria, and others. You'll represent the Product Security Compliance team within the broader Products and Technologies organization. You'll assume a broad range of responsibilities and challenges that are ideal for an industry leader looking to expand their global visibility and impact. You will have a people management responsibility; so a healthy emphasis on associate career growth is essential and collaboration, transparency, inclusion, and trust are essential for senior-level leaders at Red Hat. The preferred work location for this role is Red Hat's engineering headquarters in Westford, MA or the corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC; however, well-qualified, home-based applicants will also be considered to work remotely in a state or province where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Manage a team of individual contributors and people managers
  • Establish a long term vision and strategy for the Product Security Compliance team
  • Lead and empower the Compliance leadership team; develop, guide, and coach the people managers and individual contributors
  • Contribute actively to strategic discussions as part of the Product Security leadership team
  • Partner with stakeholders across Red Hat's engineering, documentation, quality, and technical support teams to align priorities with strategy and manage processes and goals across Red Hat's diverse technology portfolio; collaborate closely with the sales organization to guide strategic growth
  • Manage budgets effectively and work with a variety of vendors and auditors to ensure timely delivery and maintenance of certifications
  • Communicate effectively with customers and partners as well as senior management and technical leadership within Red Hat
  • Create and carry out a global engineering hiring strategy and implement best practices


What you will bring

  • Proven record of success managing customer engagements and highly technical consulting teams
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field; industry certification like CISSP or similar a plus, MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of overall experience in information technology, with a significant understanding of security technologies
  • 6+ years of experience managing teams of 25 associates or more; experience managing globally-distributed teams
  • Willingness to travel to engineering and customer sites as needed; approximately 10% travel
  • Experience leading teams in an openly and transparently and advocating on the team's behalf
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in highly collaborative environments
  • Exceptionally responsive and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with regulated compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP, SOC 2, and ISO 27001
