If you are a PRODUCT MANAGEMENT professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our ELYRIA, OH location, you will lead a team of talented product managers responsible for RIDGID pipe working tools. This role is expected to lead critical projects with a focus on new product development and will lead very strategic and key initiatives for Emerson Pro Tools.

AS THE DIRECTOR, PRODUCT MANAGEMENT, YOU WILL:

  • Develop long-term product line strategies and a corresponding new product pipeline that is consistent with the vision and strategic intent of Emerson Pro Tools.
  • Develop strategies for driving demand across all channel segments
  • Identify and manage strategic relationships with product and industry partners
  • Understand our market; using data and insights to create programs that take advantage of strengths and mitigate areas of risk
  • Have the deepest understanding of RIDGID competitors and be able to communicate current situations and potential next moves clearly to all levels of the organization
  • Understand emerging technologies and business practices. Develop proposals to integrate same into RIDGID products and services
  • Manage priorities with strategic agility and in-depth, hands-on product expertise
  • Build effective teams and develop direct reports and others

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience of professional product management, marketing, engineering, or sales experience, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the requirements of the job
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, business or equivalent
  • Involvement in new product development projects and project management methodologies in a manufactured product environment is required
  • A proven ability to maintain a high level of organization and service, manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Experience leading market research (both internal and external resources) to find opportunities in current and potential market spaces
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to travel 25 to 30% of the time, including international
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.



PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Experience within the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing markets preferred.
  • MBA
  • People management experience

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. About our Location

Since the invention of the modern pipe wrench in 1923, the 25-acre RIDGID world headquarters in Elyria, Ohio has been developing tools that help trades professionals tackle jobs faster, safer, and more accurately. Today, more than 600 employees work in 734K sq. ft. of office and manufacturing space. The campus is also home to a factory tool service center and a state-of-the-art "School House" training center that educates and trains hundreds of tradespersons annually. In addition to the iconic wrench, the campus manufactures RIDGID battery hydraulic tools, pipe and electrical tools, and drain cleaning components, as well as Greenlee step bits and knock out tools.
