Overview:

This position will be responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and execution of our next generation of data services, leveraging your expertise to concentrate the disparate business needs and data sources into a cohesive and consistent layer of data infrastructure. The Data Analytics & Reporting team will build strategic and innovative data products that drive business revenue, build customer loyalty, identify risks and opportunities, analyze consumer behaviors and guide product strategies through frameworks and self-serve tools for clients, data scientists, and business leaders & operators

About the role:

An ideal candidate for Director, Product Management of Data, should have demonstrated experience in managing collaborative teams of product managers, engineers, data scientists and analysts to deliver enterprise data products and solutions. A successful applicant for this role would be a leader with strong executive presence, ability to work effectively with remote teams, and an established history of taking end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results. You also need to show an effective ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and a proven track record of delivering data products ranging from visualizations & models, to analytics platforms, to data marts & warehouses.

Responsibilities:

Lead the data product management team in building the product vision, strategy, and unified roadmap for Data Analytics and Reporting

Collaborate with executive stakeholders, development & engineering leads, and peer product managers of other enterprise product domains to drive data services objectives and priorities

Build and refine an incremental approach and strategy for data consolidation and governance, platforms and frameworks for business intelligence and visualization, self-serve reporting internally and externally, and data science tooling for business needs such as consumer insights and risk evaluation models

Lead and manage a team of product managers globally with both direct and indirect reports

Work with technical leaders, product managers and Agile scrum teams on design, definition, documentation of features for new applications, infrastructure, data security and structure

Lead Data strategy evangelism to drive internal and external understanding of capabilities and features, driving user adoption through executive briefings, client and sales meetings, and internal learning and education series

Identify and report functional risks to the successful outcomes

Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the relevant processes, products, systems and platforms in Blackhawk functional domain

Build and maintain internal relationships to be effective

Proactively review and work within company policies, standard operating procedures, company and legislative updates to ensure you are working in line with best practice and business risk is minimized

Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), work ethic and the ability to work well individually as well as leading cross functional project teams

Understanding of Enterprise data strategies, data governance & analytics maturity

Experience identifying market opportunities and driving data strategy, roadmap for value-added & monetizable data services

Understanding of design principles and aesthetics of business dashboards and reports (i.e. look and feel)

Experience with BI visualization tools and their implementation, such as PowerBI

Strong skills in data modelling and database design understanding with relevant system design expertise is a plus to support technology partners

Understanding and experience with big data technologies and platforms is highly desired

Prior experience in design, development and deployment of BI applications

The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations

Effective organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills

Highly self-motivated, self-starter, multi-tasker; Personable, credible and able to build rapport easily

Thrives on pressure while maintaining team first outlook

7+ years of experience in Product Management related to BI, Analytics, Data Warehousing or other enterprise data services

2+ years of experience in leading and managing teams in a virtual, global or structured organization

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or similar discipline
