In this role, the Digital Product Manager will work with UHC Community & State (C&S) business partners and digital strategy to manage member portal projects supported by Optum Digital and lead &/or collaborate with business partners on Digital projects from ideation through delivery and optimization.
The focus will include creating product strategy, product vision & value-based delivery plans and execution. The Product Manager will build and maintain relationships with UHC C&S business partners to improve communications, collaboration, and coordination to realize business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build collaborative relationships with UHC C&S business team members including Marketing, Member Experience, Operations, Product, and IT
  • Know and understand the C&S membership, market, business objectives and strategies
  • Partner with C&S marketing and experience to define the digital vision, objectives, key results, and benefits and then track OKRs to measure success/outcome
  • Analyze data, including member feedback, member digital activity, technical performance reports and other information to drive strategy, tactics and resolve product issues
  • Monitor data trends to influence strategy and product planning, as well as product accuracy
  • Write capability documents, user feature and technical requirements, user stories and other artifacts required for digital delivery and software development
  • Work with experience, design, operations, marketing, and delivery partners to produce capability and feature requirements to ensure quality and effective execution
  • Work with product owners and managers, designers, and scrum teams to deliver commitments made through requirements, planning, and delivery
  • Partner with digital strategy to define the digital vision, goals and benefits and then track KPI's to measure success/outcome
  • Engage and collaborate with project sponsors to jointly define emerging projects and shepherd them through the Digital development process
  • Support the development of the overall digital product strategy and roadmap
  • Support the execution of portfolio projects impacting the digital member experience including those sponsored by UHC and Optum digital partners
  • Lead ad hoc projects with cross functional teams supporting key business goals
  • Develop and maintain regular communications to support leadership and business partner team communications
  • Work with all to identify new product features that drive objectives and key results

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in digital product management
  • 4+ years of working experience in healthcare related fields
  • 4+ years of working experience with software development teams
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
  • Experience working with business owners (managing expectations, managing delivery dates)
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams comprising product managers, project managers, marketers, and engineering
  • Knowledge of current digital web and application standards
  • Demonstrated portfolio of user-centric digital experiences with proven, positive impacts to engagement and KPIs


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience using Jira/VersionOne/Aha!
  • 1+ years of experience using Adobe Analytics Tracking & Reporting iPerceptions
  • 1+ years of experience developing eCommerce Products
  • 1+ years of experience directly managing Customer Relationships
  • Solid ability to absorb and make sense of large amounts of data, information and perspectives to direct decision making
  • Ability to turn complicated inputs into a clear, communicable vision that delivers user/member and clear business value
  • Results-oriented individual with strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
