We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Associate Product Manager to build on the success of our ELA K-8 programs with a view across the roadmap. In this position, you will work closely with a skilled group of content leads, designers, engineers, creatives and implementation specialists to drive the development of innovative and exciting features, and ensure that our product suite works exceptionally well in all classrooms. The ideal Associate Product Manager candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, passionate about working in education technology to create the best possible experience for teachers, students, and administrators, and is excited about the meaningful impact that Amplify is making in the world of education.
Responsibilities:
Product Management

  • Work closely with ELA and Humanities product leadership roadmap to deliver on a roadmap and prioritize feature releases for maximum customer impact.
  • Understand the ELA product line, content, user experience, and how ELA products are connected to the broader Amplify ecosystem.
  • Raise issues, risks, and dependencies, and collaborate to resolve them effectively
  • Support product initiatives and projects that impact multiple teams, including content, product, design, engineering, and research and measurement through clear communication.
  • Contribute to the delivery of initiatives and large-scale projects from initial concept and planning, through execution and release.
  • Develop exceptional products that raise student outcomes and user engagement
  • Empathize with our customers' and users' needs as a passionate advocate for customer perspectives through all phases of product development.


Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate on customer-facing projects including training materials, pilot support, customer discussion guidelines and sales meetings.
  • Be a partner to the larger product management team's relationship with engineering, design, content, marketing, and implementation to align our vision and execute against the roadmap
  • Draft internal communications, release notes and training materials for the launch of new features and products. Review customer-facing information before it is released.


Market & User Research

  • Stay up to date on the competitive product landscape to inform product, design and development thinking. Use research findings to guide planning and product development.
  • Participate in user testing of new product ideas, including focus groups with teachers, getting feedback on prototypes, and coordinating feature pilots with live classrooms.


Agile Team Practices

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies as needed (sprint planning, retrospectives, scrum, etc.) and track completed work
  • Understand the overall product backlog, create communication that can be translated into user stories.


Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a product management role
  • Some experience involved in the software or content development life cycle, from concept to delivery, using Agile practices
  • Organizational skills and phenomenal attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in project management and associated tools for managing development.
  • Experience successfully communicating and collaborating with internal and external partners to launch or improve a product
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an educator, preferably in English language Arts
  • Background in technology, design, user research, curriculum development
  • Understanding of Lean Startup and Agile methodologies
