Job Summary

Reporting to Product Manager, the Product Testing Analyst will be responsible for designing, preparing, and executing tests to ensure that products, applications, and digital solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations. The role identifies defects, validates functionality, and supports the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performing products. The role holder shall work closely with product managers within the Digital Banking unit to provide overall testing support across the various product portfolios to ensure timely & quality delivery of products to Absa customers.

Job Description

Key accountabilities/Deliverables/Outcomes

Product Test Analysis, Planning & Execution

  • Review business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
  • Analyze requirements to identify test conditions and test scenarios.
  • Develop comprehensive test cases, test scripts, and test data.
  • Estimate testing effort and support test planning activities.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases.
  • Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing support.
  • Validate product functionality against defined requirements.
  • Record, monitor, and retest defects until resolution.

Defect Management & Quality Assurance

  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects.
  • Work closely with developers and product teams to resolve issues.
  • Verify fixes and conduct regression testing.
  • Provide detailed defect analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and testing methodologies.
  • Participate in requirement reviews and product walkthroughs.
  • Validate compliance with business, security, and operational requirements.
  • Support release readiness assessments.

Test Automation Support

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
  • Execute automation test suites and analyze results.
  • Identify opportunities to increase automation coverage.
  • Contribute to continuous testing initiatives within product pipelines.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare testing progress reports and status updates.
  • Communicate test results, risks, and quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and end-users.
  • Participate in defect triage and project review meetings.

Role/person specification

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years' experience in software testing, quality assurance, or product testing.
  • Experience testing web, mobile, or enterprise applications.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Exposure to test automation tools is advantageous.

Education

Bachelor's Degree: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)
