About the role
- To lead the governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) on site.
- This includes managing and motivating a team of Product and Process Engineers, providing technical guidance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and EHS standards, and partnering with value streams, support functions, and global teams to deliver operational excellence and product quality throughout the Lifecyle.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of PLM, ensuring robust processes from development to commercialization and through-out its lifecycle post commercialization.
- Deliver high-value projects that reduce waste, improve quality, and drive cost savings, including value engineering and packaging de-risking initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise in packaging, ensuring materials and components meet performance, quality, and sustainability standards.
- Identify and implement sustainability improvements in packaging and processes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage, motivate, coach and develop a team of engineers, fostering technical growth and ensuring effective succession planning. Provides technical leadership and shares expertise with the team of process engineers and packaging engineers.
- Partner with operations, quality, procurement, and global teams to implement best practices and align technical strategies. Interfaces with regional and global teams to develop and implement best practises and ensuring technical strategy is aligned with overall business strategy.
- Ensure all technical activities and documentation comply with regulatory and corporate standards; provide technical input for audits and regulatory submissions. Interacts with internal and external auditors to support site inspections. Ensures that Health Authority regulations are appropriately adhered to and a fit-for-purpose approach is embedded within the team.
- Conduct risk assessments, lead root cause analyses, and resolve product or packaging deviations and complaints.
- Prepare, track, and present key performance indicators (KPIs) for PLM and packaging, using data to drive continuous improvement. Accountable for overall performance of the team according to the performance standard.
- Ensure clear, timely communication of technical recommendations, project progress, and improvement actions to all relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct all work activities in accordance with the Environment Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy QD-POL-000823, maintaining a secure and healthy workplace and complying with EHS and Engineering standards and site procedures.
Qualifications and skills
Required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Scientific, Technical or Engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in the Pharmaceutical or FMCG industry in leading the technical aspects of the Product Lifecycle including Technology Transfers, Technical Risk Assessments, Product Control Strategies, Process Capability/Robustness, QbD, validation and change control.
