Product Steward (Digital Manufacturing)

This is a remote position.

Our global pharma client is seeking an experienced Product Steward to support the standardization and governance of industrial automation products across global manufacturing sites. This role sits at the intersection of Product Management, Engineering, IT, Operational Technology (OT), and OEM vendors, ensuring consistent product definitions, data quality, documentation, and best practices throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will act as the owner of product standardization, product footprints, data semantics, and requirements governance, while driving collaboration across engineering teams and building a strong internal knowledge-sharing community.

• Own the standardization of automation products across the enterprise.
  
• Define and maintain product footprints, product metadata, and lifecycle information.
  
• Ensure consistency of product definitions, naming conventions, classifications, and documentation.
  
• Support product lifecycle governance from introduction through retirement.
  

• Gather, analyze, and standardize business and technical requirements.
  
• Define reusable product standards and templates across automation solutions.
  
• Translate business needs into structured requirements for engineering teams.
  
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to prioritize standardization initiatives.
  

• Own product data quality, metadata, taxonomy, and semantic standards.
  
• Develop governance processes for product information and master data.
  
• Define data semantics and ensure consistent interpretation of automation product information.
  
• Drive continuous improvement of product data management practices.
  

• Act as the liaison between Product Management, Engineering (GES ISE), Manufacturing, and OEM vendors.
  
• Support initiatives bridging Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT).
  
• Collaborate with automation engineers to standardize industrial automation assets and documentation.
  

• Build and maintain Confluence spaces and SharePoint repositories.
  
• Create Product Guides, Knowledge Books, templates, and best practices.
  
• Establish and promote internal communities of practice.
  
• Drive knowledge sharing across engineering and product teams.
  

• 6+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Stewardship, Product Management, or related roles.
  
• Hands-on experience working in IT/OT environments.
  
• Experience with industrial automation technologies.
  
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and product governance.
  
• Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and standardization.
  
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills.
  
• Experience with Confluence and SharePoint.
  
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
