TITLE: Product Specialist III
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
DUTIES: • Respond efficiently and promptly to customer requests and, clarify the customers' business challenges and function as a technical resource throughout the whole sales cycle.
- Build relationships at multiple levels and across all constituents establishing initial technical credibility with accounts.
- Prepare and deliver exciting, compelling, and focused technical demonstrations, including demo of molecular biology and sample preparation instrumentation.
- Present an attractive value proposition to customers.
- Develop efficient strategies to address opportunities and overcome obstacles by understanding the strengths and vulnerabilities of major competitors.
- Develop a territory business plan and frequently update according to business and market changes.
- Achieve assigned territory sales goals by proactively calling on existing and potential new customers via field visits, email, phone and phone.
- Nurture existing customer relationships with a focus on increasing overall revenue and reagent attachment with customers using both existing and newly placed instrumentation.
- Research accounts and leverage historical sales data and market trends to drive new business.
- Work closely with sales counterparts and Distribution reps to develop specific account growth strategy, account mapping and penetration.
- Gather, process, and disseminate competitive intelligence and market feedback to support evolution of our offerings and tactics.
- Provide forecasting and reporting as required on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
Up to 75% domestic and international travel required. Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.
MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Biomedical Science, Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology or related field of study.
MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 3 years of experience as a Product Sales Specialist, Laboratory Technician or a related occupation.
Alternative Education and Experience Requirement: Master’s degree or
foreign degree equivalent in Biomedical Science, Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology or related field of study and 1 year of experience as a Product Sales Specialist, Laboratory Technician or a related occupation.
Required knowledge or experience with:
- Molecular Biology lab techniques;
- Technical sales experience;
- Life Science research industry;
- SFDC Experience;
- PowerBI;
- Sample Preparation: RNA and DNA purification;
- PCR/qPCR knowledge, including building protocols on thermal cyclers; and
- DNA Electrophoresis.
