The Core Payments team within the Domestic & Account Payables team is leading transformation to standardize approach to managing Domestic Payments network.  The main objective is to align our global network across 80+ markets to our client's business models which are increasingly regional and/or global. In addition, the Domestic Payments team must ensure that our network remains competitive in the mid and long term and offers best in class solutions to our clients. As part of our strategy of being the network of networks, we are making significant investments in enhancing our Domestic Payments offering, modernizing the technology platforms as well as building client centric value add solutions that are best in class.  This role will have key focus on managing and enhancing our Domestic payments proposition. The successful candidate will work very closely with product colleagues, sales and customers to ensure that our domestic payments capabilities and value proposition is best in class.

 Citi is looking for a senior product leader to drive end-to-end product simplification thereby enabling platform modernization across Global Domestic Core Payments, a network spanning 80+ markets. In this role, you will shape the simplification globally for the network, leading to improving resilience while partnering with product, operations, and technology teams to deliver measurable impact at scale. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence global payments strategy and accelerate commercial growth within one of the world's leading financial institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global product simplification strategy for domestic core payments, establishing it as a primary pathway to end-to-end resilience across all markets and product lines.

  • Define and oversee the execution of strategic simplification programs, including governance frameworks, OKRs, country-level analysis, and a structured roadmap for resource and investment prioritization.

  • Partner with product, operations, and technology teams to reduce architectural complexity and drive measurable improvements thereby reducing complexity and fundamentally improving overall resilience.

  • Analyze market intelligence and sector trends to identify commercial opportunities, shape product development roadmaps, and refine pricing and go-to-market strategies.

  • Champion Core Payments commercialization efforts for the Corporate & Commercial Banking segment, translating product simplification and process advancements into tangible client value and market opportunities.

  • Monitor product and portfolio performance, analyze vertical-specific P&L drivers, and implement targeted strategies to meet profitability and growth goals.

  • Communicate progress on simplification strategy to senior stakeholders, reporting on key performance indicators and escalating risks with transparency and appropriate corrective actions.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for simplification to mitigate a broad spectrum of resilience risks, ensuring that appropriate and strategic corrective measures are put in place.

  • Drive continuous improvement in our product simplification efforts and overall resilience capabilities, staying abreast of industry best practices, evolving regulatory requirements, and leveraging simplification as a lever for resilience

  • Manage product risk, regulatory compliance, and control documentation, ensuring all products adhere to applicable standards globally and align with legal, credit, and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 10 or more years of experience in product management or product development, with demonstrated expertise in leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.

  • Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including regulatory frameworks, industry best practices, and the application of simplification principles to improve system robustness.

  • Ability to develop and execute commercialization strategies that translate product improvements into client value and business growth across key market segments.

  • Strong analytical capability, with experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate market opportunities, solve complex problems, and develop innovative solutions.

  • Skilled at building consensus among senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including technology, operations, legal, and sales teams, to deliver aligned and coordinated outcomes.

  • Confident presenting to clients and senior leadership, with the ability to communicate complex strategies clearly and persuasively to varied audiences.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level qualification.
