Job DescriptionYour mission:
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Your mission is to shape the Product Risk and Compliance Program, for Wise to offer its services to many more Customers in our NorthAm market. You will do this by partnering with Wise Banking and Product teams to grow our existing products, get new licenses and launch new products across the US and Canada.
This is a first line of defence hands-on role, embedded in the Regional Product Squad.
You will be part of a growing the Product Compliance and Risk team (first line risk), owning projects and making decisions in the following areas:
Collaborate on Product Design
Offer effective advice to Product Managers on existing and forthcoming regulations, gaps, and risks
Translate and implement local regulatory requirements for Product and Engineering teams, facilitating seamless execution
Empower Product Teams to build risk based products, processes, and controls
Perform pre-launch and ongoing product compliance regulatory analysis and risk assessments
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Compliance and Risk Program to internal and external stakeholders (Global Committees, Regulators, Internal and External Audit, Banking Partners)
Collaborate with Compliance colleagues, to ensure Wise Product Teams are constantly aware of the most recent regulations and guidance
Contribute to audit management and, where required, challenge audit findings in collaboration with Compliance second line and Product teams
Support Regulatory and Risk discussions with clear action plans and updates on previously identified issues and emerging risks
Define Regulatory Risk metrics to assess the health of Wise’s new licenses and products in the US and Canada
Determine when local regulatory requirements can be met through existing global controls and when unique requirements necessitate prioritization, optimizing for the utilization of existing controls where feasible
