POSITION OVERVIEW
The Product Research Manager I will work with Product Line Managers (PLM’s) and other departments, such as our Design Studio, Marketing, Product Development and Research teams, to ensure that competitive analysis and benchmarking is integrated into the decision-making processes across the organization. This role is key to understanding our competitors, industry trends, and market conditions to identify opportunities for Gentex.
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the assigned User Research Team and creative designers within the Gentex Design Studio.
  • Develop and lead a process for technical product benchmarking within Gentex.
  • Work closely with product line managers, research, UI/UX, engineering, marketing, and program managers to help inform projects.
  • Manage and balance team resources in partnership with Product Line Managers and Product owners to ensure projects are completed within the agreed upon budget, scope and timing.
  • Perform consistent resource prioritization to avoid resource conflicts and lead resource redirection as needed.
  • Regularly meet one on one with team members to review goals, priorities, and personal/professional development.
  • Be the point of contact for internal customers when new opportunities arise, or help is needed
  • Conducting research and benchmarking current industry trends.
  • Coordinate with internal team members, contractors, vendors, and other industry partners.
  • Develop industrial standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including promoting a safe workplace.
     

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Product Design, or other visual arts or engineering related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in user experience or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Product Design, or other visual arts or engineering related field.
  • Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workloads and meet critical project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Good visual trend sensitivity on new visual design direction to lead the product visual direction.
